OC Nursing seeks public comments for accreditation process

Oklahoma Christian University is seeking comments from the public regarding OC's nursing program as it seeks accreditation.  The program will undergo an on campus visit November 12-14, 2007, by a team representing the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Accreditation by CCNE holds nursing programs accountable to the community of interest – the nursing profession, consumer, employers, higher education, students and their families – and to one another by ensuring the program curriculum is appropriate to prepare individuals to fulfill their expected roles within the nursing profession.

As a voluntary, self-regulatory process, CCNE accreditation supports and encourages continuing self-assessment by nursing programs and supports continuing growth and improvement of collegiate professional education.

Please send comments to:

Ms. Sarah Jameson, Accreditation Assistant
Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education
One Dupont Circle, NW, Suite 530
Washington, DC 20036-1120
202-887-8476 (fax)

All comments must be received by October 12, 2007.
