Oklahoma Christian University’s nursing graduates had a higher pass rate for their registered nursing exam than the state and national averages in 2009. The Oklahoma Christian graduates had a pass rate of 88.89 percent on their National Council Licensure Examination, while the state and national pass rates were 86.67 percent and 88.42 percent, respectively.

According to Lindy Fly, director of nursing and assistant professor, the credit goes to the faculty that serve in the nursing program.

"We are so blessed to have Kay Elder, Beth Scott, Shawna Hood and Becky O’Neal as nursing faculty,” Fly said. "Each one of them strives for excellence in the classroom and in the accompanying clinical components. The pass rates are reflective of their dedication to instill the professional practice of nursing into every student.

"In addition, the 2009 graduates are all now working in various hospitals, and the nursing department has received numerous ‘good reports’ of their professionalism and integrity within their nursing practice.”
