Can money buy happiness?

Probably not, but according to a recent study that spurred this article in Forbes, it certainly appears possible. The study showed that the simple philanthropic act of giving money away (no matter how much or how little and regardless of whether it was given to individuals or organizations) was found to make people feel happier.

In light of this study and others like it, we hope you understand that OC is just trying to make you happy when we ask you for a donation!

Seriously though... whether or not you decide give to OC after reading this, we want to encourage you (our alumni) to find a philanthropic cause in the month of May and make a donation to it.

If what we're doing catches your eye and you want to jump on board, great! Oklahoma Christian is doing so many exciting things and your support is always welcomed and needed. People who give to Oklahoma Christian make a huge difference in helping prepare our current students to go out and make a positive impact on the world.

But if you find another cause that you believe in and decide to invest in it, that's great too. You'll be a happier person in the long run because of your philanthropy. Plus, the cause you give to will benefit, and OC will benefit as well from having happier alumni. If you make a donation to another cause this month, let us know by including the name of the cause and how you felt after making the donation in the comments section below
