The Oklahoma Christian University (OC) theater department will open the spring semester with a production of "R.U.R." Directed by Dr. Barrett Huddleston, performances will run February 15-16 and 22-23.

This early twentieth-century play, concerns artificial workers that exhibit genuine desires and emotions. After the arrival of Helena Glory, humanitarian, libertarian and ingénue, a group of scientists and their lifelike creations go "topsy-turvy" with sometimes hilarious, sometimes suspenseful results. The play also serves as a cautionary tale that speaks to the importance of preserving a spiritual foundation in an increasingly mechanized world.

Performances at 8 p.m. in Judd Theatre. A special "Talk-back" will be hosted by the Cast and Crew on opening night after the performance. This talk-back will be free and open to the public.

The show is suitable for ages 12 and up.

Cast members include Matthew Arnold, Nick Aspey, Lydia Carlton, Clinton Corley, Lisa Curry, Brent Merrill, Rebecca Montgomery and Matthew Miller.

Tickets are on sale at the OC Box office and can be purchased in person or by calling 425-5540 or 425-5530. Box office hours are Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m.
