1972 - Sammy Max Pierce

Sammy Max Pierce, age 57 passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on Tues., Feb. 19, 2008. He was born July 12, 1950 in Vernon, TX to Sammy and June Pierce. He attended Pawhuska High School, and was a graduate of Oklahoma Christian University with a degree in Education. He was a devoted teacher for over 30 yrs. He spent his entire adult life educating, thus passing on his bountiful knowledge of academics, athletics, and all of life's lessons to countless teenagers who will remember him fondly, and with great respect. He enjoyed spending his free time playing golf, and spending time with those he loved most, his children, and grandchildren. He is survived by his 3 daughters, Kelli Dawn Jones and husband Ed of Moore OK, Heather Leigh Rodrigue and husband John of Brady TX, Lori Beth Bice and husband Zach of Moore OK; and 7 grandchildren, Kody & Kole English, Dalton Jones, Levi & Gavin Rodrigue, and Kenzi & Brantley Bice. He is also survived by a sister, Tanna Beth Ready and husband Marlo of New Harmony, UT; a brother, Larry Wayne Cornelison of OKC, OK; a nephew, Josh Ready; a niece, Samantha Agosta; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Viewing will be at John M. Ireland Funeral Home on Feb. 22 during business hours. Services will be held at 1p.m. on Sat., Feb. 23, at Eastern Ave. Baptist Church. Interment will follow at City of Moore Cemetery. Services under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, Moore, OK.

Larry, I am so sorry for the passing of Max. I know how much he meant to you. Prayers for you and all Max's family. I remember he had such a quiet humility that I'm sure blessed many during his life. Martie Miller Noll
