Memorials - Wendolyn Maxwell Endowed Scholarship Details » Donate Online

WendyWendy Maxwell worked in Oklahoma City Public Schools for fourteen years as a teacher and guidance counselor. In 1988 she came to Oklahoma Christian University where she was an assistant professor of education until her passing in 1996. Wendy fulfilled her lifelong dream in 1994 when she became “Dr. Maxwell” after earning a doctoral degree in education.

Wendy was beloved by her students, and she took special pride in nurturing and encouraging minority students who sought to better their lives through higher education. This scholarship endowment honors Dr. Maxwell’s years of dedicated service in the education field and her passion to assist young minority students in their pursuits of higher education.

Who is Eligible?

The Maxwell Scholarship supports fulltime African-American students who are majoring in education.

What is the Goal?

The family and the university have set $50,000 as their fundraising goal.  A larger endowment can generate even greater scholarship support for students.
